2020 Poster Competition Entries
As part of Digital Inclusion Week activities this year, the Digital Empowerment Community of Austin (DECA) launched its first poster design competition. The competition entries are featured below.
The competition was open to students between the ages of 10 and 18 living in Austin. The students were asked to design a poster that depicted "What Digital Equity Means to You." The winners were announced at the November 19th Community Technology and Telecommunications Commission (CTTC) meeting, and each artist received a monetary award of $400, $200, and $100 respectively. Out of more than 20 entries, the winners of the competition are as follows:
  • Mira Patel (12), Kealing Middle School - First Place
  • Ari Bernstein (12), Covington Fine Arts Academy - 2nd Place
  • Kavya Gupta (11), St. Francis School - 3rd Place
Their works will be used by DECA for the next year until the competition opens again for DIW 2021. We hope the competition continues to inspire young artists to contemplate their community and share their perspective on it.
